Grove at La Biennale Di Venezia
Grove, by Philip Beesley and the Living Architecture Systems Group, was part of “How Will We Live Together?” – the 17th International Architecture Exhibition – at La Biennale di Venezia, curated by Hashim Sarkis.
Grove is a delicate and beautiful gathering space that offers a vision for inclusive, open building. A soaring, undulating canopy of luminous, lace-like clouds embedded with liquid-filled glass vessels hovers above a central pool-shaped screen, into which a film, called Grove Cradle, by London-based Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton Jones is projected.
4DSOUND collaborated with Philip Beesley Studio to design and develop 3D-printed omnidirectional speakers embedded in totemic, basket-like columns, which carry a spatial sound composition by Salvador Breed.
Grove was kindly supported by Creative Industries Fund, Stichting Stokroos and Gerbrandy Cultuurfonds.
