IT University of Copenhagen

The IT University of Copenhagen (ITU) has established a cutting-edge 4DSOUND spatial research studio as part of the EU-funded XTREME project, led by Associate Professor Sami Brandt. This state-of-the-art lab is a hub for both scientific and artistic research in spatial audio and mixed reality (MR). As a leading innovator in spatial audio technology, 4DSOUND plays a central role as XTREME’s audio partner.

Equipped with a 4DSOUND 24.2 configuration, the lab facilitates innovative research in spatial audio and MR  under the XTREME project.  ITU recognizes 4DSOUND’s unmatched ability to project realistic and ambiguous spatial sound. This collaboration leverages 4DSOUND’s technical prowess and platform for artistic innovation, laying the foundation for pioneering new MR methods. The ultimate aim is to merge 4DSOUND’s technology and vision into a powerful, user-friendly platform, pushing the limits of spatial audio and MR research.
