Aural Spaces: Space as a Collective Sonic Instrument Workshop

Hosted by sound artists Mint Park and Robin Koek, ‘Space as a Collective Sonic Instrument’ this workshop will approach the topic of listening and sonic composition through the lens of spatial sound. Participants will work collectively to gather sounds and create spatial experiments on a 4DSOUND system. The compositions created during the workshop will be presented at the Concertgebouw’s Recital Hall in the Aural Spaces programme.

The workshop includes a two-day core program, an online intro session, and a final presentation. Together we will explore these questions: How does our awareness of space affect our listening perspective? Which aural spaces emerge through an act of collective acoustic practice? Can we become recomposed through the spaces we listen in?
